Matthew Dibble – AstraZeneca: Died 12th May 2021

Suffered a ‘catastrophic’ brain haemorrhage induced by his first dose of the AstraZeneca Vaccine

Matthew, a 40 year old Professional Musician, died after suffering a ‘catastrophic’ brain haemorrhage induced by his first dose of the AstraZeneca Covid-19 Vaccine

He presented at St Thomas’ Hospital, London but his headache was said to be ‘minor’. He was sent home and advised to return to hospital if his condition worsened. Two days later he was found by his mother ‘drowsy and atonic’. She called an ambulance and he was rushed to King’s College Hospital. Tests revealed his platelet count had dropped significantly.

Mr Dibble was also found to be suffering from ‘a right side haemorrhage’ caused by ‘extensive cerebral venous sinus thrombosis’ – where a blood clot forms in the brain’s venous sinuses and prevents blood from draining.

He underwent an emergency craniectomy, the temporary removal of part of the skull, and burr hole surgery to relieve pressure on his brain. He then developed further swelling which was ‘deemed a catastrophic event’ and he died in hospital on 12th May.

A subsequent post mortem returned a primary cause of death of brain stem herniation.
